

Southfield, Michigan-native Rodney Lamar Page began studying violin at age 10. Upon high school graduation he was awarded a music scholarship to Michigan State University where he subsequently earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education.
As a violinist, Mr. Page has performed in the Midland Symphony Orchestra, Michigan State University Symphony Orchestra, Livingston Symphony Orchestra, and as a 2nd violinist in the South Shore Symphony Orchestra in China.
Rodney’s skill and accomplishments in the classroom were acknowledged in 2006 when he was designated District V Orchestra Teacher of the Year by the Michigan Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA). His reputation as an educator was recognized in 2002 when he was named a Fulbright Memorial Fund recipient. He used his award to travel to Japan to study the country’s educational system and culture. In the summer of 2013 Mr. Page was selected as a conducting fellow at the Juilliard School of Music in New York City.
In 2019, Rodney was selected as a guest lecturer at Adnan Menderes University in Turkey and gave master classes to the students there as well as performed. Rodney made his national television debut on Showtime at the Apollo in 2002. Mr. Page also is a motivational speaker speaking at prisons, public schools, juvenile detention homes, as well as national conferences. Rodney infuses music during his motivational message to encourage and uplift his audiences.

What to Expect
Whatever the string instrument, violin, viola, cello or bass, our professional teachers and staff will provide the student with fundamentals of music theory, instruction and knowledge as a foundation for their education and musical journey to success and character building.
The Camp Schedule:
Sunday, July 12 6:00 p.m. - Meet and Greet reception with Rodney and the faculty; refreshments afterward.
Monday-Wednesday, July 13-15 1:00 - 4:30 - Class time, with a brief snack period in the middle of the afternoon
Thursday, July 16 1:00 - 4:30 - Class time
4:45 - Dinner is provided for campers and faculty
6:30 - Final concert, open to the public
The Camp experience:
• daily workshops
• individual training (student teacher ratio 6 to 1)
• Professional and semi-professional musicians
offer your student the fundamentals of their
instrument, i.e. bowing, rhythm, technique & style,
music history, and new musical scores.
• Students are assigned to prearranged groups
depending on ability, Beginners/Intermediates/Advanced.
The $50.00 camp fee ($40.00 if registered before May 30) includes:
• music
• TCCO t-shirt
• snacks are provided during the day
• final day dinner party before their first public concert at 6:30 PM held in the gymnasium at Fruzen Intermediate School.

Student Concert
The concert is free and open to the public, and for many of our young performers, can be a life changing experience since it is their first public performance before a live audience!
